Techniques FAQ

How do I learn new techniques?

  You can techcopy techniques. In other words, you can copy techniques from other players as they are using them.


How do I use techcopy?

  When a player is using a technique, techcopy will flash on the screen in blue or white. As it's flashing in white, press the X button. The likelihood of successfully techcopying depends on your player's relative level to the opponent and the accuracy of the timing.


Can I copy any technique?

  You can techcopy the majority of techniques, however, there are a few which you cannot techcopy:

  Techniques that cannot be techcopied: Jecht Shoot, Jecht Shoot 2, Auroch Spirit, Elite Defense, Brawler, Pile Venom, Pile Wither, Regen, Good Morning!, Hi Risk, Golden Arm, Gamble.

Jecht Shot 120 shoot +5 100% Removes up to two blocking opponents.
Jecht Shot 2 999 shoot +10 100% Removes up to three blocking opponents and activates invisible.
Aurochs Spirit 600 shoot +? 100% Adds the combined shoot values of all the original Auroch team members currently on the field to Wakka's.
Sphere Shot 90 shoot +0 - 20 100% Uses a roulette wheel to determine shoot value.
Invisible Shot 220 shoot +3 60% Uses a short minigame to determine if the shot succeeds.
Venom Shot 20 shoot +3 40% Poisons the Keeper.
Venom Shot 2 35 shoot +5 70% Poisons the Keeper.
Venom Shot 3 100 shoot +7 100% Poisons the Keeper.
Nap Shot 45 shoot +3 40% Puts the Keeper to sleep.
Nap Shot 2 80 shoot +5 70% Puts the Keeper to sleep.
Nap Shot 3 350 shoot +7 100% Puts the Keeper to sleep.
Wither Shot 30 shoot +3 40% Halves either the Keeper's intercept or catch.
Wither Shot 2 180 shoot +5 40% Halves either the Keeper's intercept or catch.
Wither Shot 3 390 shoot +7 100% Halves either the Keeper's intercept or catch.

Spin Ball 30 0 100% Makes it more likely that the ball rebounds off the goal instead of being caught by the keeper.
Grip Gloves 30 0 100% Raises the chance of the Keeper catching the ball rather than the ball rebounding.
Elite Defence 5 0 100% Increases range attack which a player can see an opponent catching the ball.
Brawler 10 0 60% Increases range attack which a player can appear as a blocker in an encounter.
Pile Venom 30 0 100% Allows player to stack poison status ailments on their opponents
Pile Wither 70 0 100% Allows player to stack Wither status ailments on their opponents.
Regen 50 0 100% Multiplies the HP recovery rate fourfold when not in possession of the ball.
Good Morning! 180 0 50% Increases stats when woken out of sleep by a special effect.
Hi Risk 300 0 0% All stats except HP and speed are halved, but the player receives double EXP.
Golden Arm 30 0 0% Makes distance less of a factor in shooting or passing.
Gamble 300 0 0 50% When woken out of sleep, all stats except HP and speed are determined by a roulette.
Super Goalie at least 30 catch +0 -  10 60% Uses a roulette to decide final catch value.
